ASB 19914 - Sealing of windows Plus, On Wednesday evening (13th April) I noticed two windows that had been sealed shut on the first floor of apartments 157-162 High Street, DY9 8LT; an image is attached and embedded - please forward this message to ASB and/or Housing Department. 1) Magnification should show a drop of set glue at the tip of the handles (at least that on the left) 2) There is a connection to a previous issue in which residents accused the author of sealing shut the windows on the second floor, believed, at least initially, by Council officials and operatives (in fact, the substance applied was lubricant). 3) Ventilation is necessary if only to dilute the occasional smoke and the stench from the dog kept at apartment 157. 4) The Council must concede that it is not appropriate that a resident tampers with the shared infrastructure in this manner, surely? 5) Does such 'intervention' actually represent criminal damage? 6) Amongst the three suspects, two are resident on the second floor, so there is little incentive to seal the windows on the first floor, leaving the windows on the second floor operational - the principal suspect must be M Bradley of 157 High Street who may view the windows from the ground floor. DAustin PS: The landings have been rendered relatively civilised (putting-aside the occasional deposition of human excrement) by the Council's removal of old carpets and obstructions, on the grounds of fire safety.
